Abena Ntoso is a writer, artist, and teacher currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at Oklahoma City University.  She completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University where she studied Creative Writing, African American Studies, and Education. She worked as an educational technologist at Columbia University while earning her M.A. from Teachers College at Columbia University, then went on to complete a D.D.S. from the College of Dental Medicine, also at Columbia University. After serving as a dentist in the U.S. Army, she returned to writing and teaching. Her writing has been published in Adelaide Literary Magazine, The Satirist, ONE ART, Writing in a Woman’s Voice, Trampoline, Equinox, and The Wrath-Bearing Tree. A native of New York City and Philadelphia, she now lives in Houston, Texas where she teaches AP English Literature and Composition and serves as English Department Chair at Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston.
